Grant funding to cut heating costs for Beccles Letting Agents

Little Beck Properties is a small family run commercial property letting agent in North Suffolk. Based near Beccles, they have small industrial units to let for workshop, manufacturing and storage use. They have recently been awarded grant funding from the Business Energy Efficiency (BEE) Anglia project for the purchase and installation of a new condensing boiler.
Following an independent energy audit, Little Beck Properties successfully applied for a grant of £2,800. The energy savings gained by implementing this project will amount to 5.1 CO2e per year, plus cost savings of almost £900. This will support future growth within their business, while working to protect the environment in line with their environmental policy.
“Having searched the internet to see if we could get help with, what for us, was going to be an expensive project, BEE advisor Ollie was in immediate contact and speedily researched our current heating system in our warehouse.
The boiler was found to be running at only 72% efficiency with the circulating pump and electrical controls also being grossly inefficient.  To operate the boiler the staff had to leave the main building, go to the boiler house and operate the controls in sequence.  The natural inclination was to leave the boiler on!
Now, our new boiler works at 95% efficiency and it is controlled by a fully programmable electronic system, both of which should combine to result in significant savings in fuel over the year.
A good reason to look forward to winter!” Adrian Sampson, Partner Little Beck Properties
“I am delighted that we have been able to support Little Beck Properties to enhance their sustainability – both economically and environmentally via this scheme.  The Business Energy Efficiency Anglia project offers all businesses the independent assurance that these savings will really be achieved.” Cllr. Matthew Hicks, Cabinet Member for Environment and Public Protection, Suffolk County Council
