Meet the BEE Team - Christian Figg

This month we meet Christian Figg who is one of our BEE Green Champions, working across Suffolk and Norfolk to visit businesses and spread the work about BEE Anglia.

What’s your favourite thing about BEE Anglia?

That it gets real results. It engages and supports businesses in the region on energy and environmental issues, helping them to reduce their impact and carbon footprint - and save some money too!

What did you do before working at BEE Anglia?

For ten years prior I was Administrator for the Suffolk Climate Change Partnership, part of Creating the Greenest County. The role included providing support to Groundwork on previous business environmental advisory projects, and also providing advice and information to householders and community groups on domestic energy efficiency measures and renewable energy options.

What would you be doing if you weren’t at BEE Anglia?

You’ll find me either on the coast, somewhere between Sizewell and Walberswick, or in my studio on the Bentwaters Air Base. I’ll tell you more about that in the last question.

What’s your favourite place in the world?

The Suffolk coast  - where else would anyone want to be?

What’s your guilty pleasure?

Single Malt Whisky!

If you could have any superpower, what would you choose?

Time travel. I’d like to experience past events first hand – and see how the future pans out. Might do a little bit of tweaking along the way.

Tell us something about you that we couldn’t guess?

I’m an artist. I have been painting since an early age and have developed a unique personal visual language that has come from my relationship with the landscape of the Suffolk coast. My paintings are big, bold and bordering on abstraction, yet retaining enough to make them instantly recognisable and accessible.

Thanks Christian.  Head back to the blog soon to meet another member of the BEE team.
