Norwich & Norfolk Eco Awards
Norwich & Norfolk Eco Awards – raise the environmental profile of your business.
People in Norfolk are once again being given the chance to showcase their environmental excellence as Norwich City Council and Norfolk County Council run their Norwich and Norfolk Eco Awards.
Winning an Eco Award is an excellent opportunity to raise the public profile of your business while also receiving recognition for all of your hard work.
Previous winning projects have demonstrated waste reduction, carbon reduction, renewable energy, innovative material use and clever collaboration among other things.
Last year’s winners included:
2016-17 Eco Food Producer category
Winner – Mrs Temples Cheese
Judges were especially impressed by the closed-loop system in place at Temple’s Farm. All elements of the cheese-making process have been considered and environmental impact minimized wherever possible.
2016-17 Small and Medium Business (less than 50 staff)
Winner – Fairhaven Woodland and Water Gardens
Judges were impressed with the comprehensive eco-ethos shown throughout this project. From sustainable land management to energy conservation, the business has stuck to, and built upon, its original environmental ideals and has changed and grown taking on new eco practices over time to look to continually decrease its own environmental impact whilst, at the same time, educating others to consider their own impact.
The aim is to celebrate and recognise projects and schemes with a strong ecological or environmentally-friendly ethos or groups and organisations which can show they adopt a sound eco -approach to all their business.
There are six entry categories, these are:
- outstanding eco primary school sponsored by Recycle for Norfolk
- outstanding eco secondary school sponsored by Cleantech East
- outstanding eco community group sponsored by Voluntary Norfolk
- outstanding eco small/medium business (less than 50 staff) sponsored by BEE Anglia
- outstanding eco food producer sponsored by Slow Food Norwich and Anglia
